Interview: Alexandra Cardenas

Here’s a thoughtful interview with Columbian composer and live coder Alexandra Cardenas, talking about her passions for code and her electric guitar, and around a lot of themes including her drive to improvise. A question often asked is whether live coders come to music from programming, or vice versa? The answer is that it depends, but here Alex describes her path from Western Classical composition, to improv experimentation and then into supercollider.

Alex is based in Berlin, and before that was part of the vibrant live coding scene in Mexico City. One of her algorave performances was covered by Wired magazine, and check her website for her other work.
