Hi, Brian Gilson based in Hull has just sent me this call for drone to
honour Drone Music Day on 28 May.

"*1pm - 9pm. Saturday, 28th May, 2016. The Ground Gallery, 60 Beverley
Road, Kingston upon Hull, East Yorkshire.*

*The How.*

When I first found out about Canada's Drone Music Day (http://droneday.org/)
I thought it was on 14th May - the same day as my 60th birthday. As both
coincided, it seemed like a good idea to organise a day of drone and
celebrate both. However, whether I misread it or they changed the day, it
turns out that Drone Day is now the 28th May. We're still going to do it -
but there might not be any birthday cake left.

*The Who.*

So, this is a call for droners, noise artists, synthesists, live coders etc
to come along to the Ground Gallery in Hull on Saturday, 28th May 2016 to
contribute to a Drone Day celebration from 1pm in the afternoon until 9pm
in the evening.

If you're interested and think you'd like to take part email me at
brianggilson_at_yahoo.co.uk and let me know the following: number of audio
outs, approx length of time you'd like to play if you want to play a set,
time of day you're likely to turn up, willingness/unwillingness to jam and
whether I can drown your sound in reverb if it gets too
musical/melodic/rhythmic. I should be back in touch with everyone who
expresses an interest by 14th May at the latest.

*The What.*

The first thing to note is that the Gallery has requested that this be an
alcohol-free event. So if we do finish at 9pm we should still have time to
socialise over a beer somewhere else.

Second, as it's part of my 60th birthday celebrations, there'll be a low
volume hum playing all day based on B G G C - my 3 initials and 60 is midi
for middle C. I guess the options are to play quietly along to that or
drown it out (that's up to you).

Finally, this is an unfunded event so there's no money to pay any expenses.
Sorry. We shall be asking for donations on the door. Maybe we'll get enough
for a beer each.
