It isn't, I feel that live patching of analogue synths is also livecoding,
especially as analogue synths are essentially analogue computers and are
Turing complete, given enough logic gate modules. In practice we aren't
given enough logic gate modules but then again we aren't given enough GHz
either so that's a moot point.

Well, it might be. Synths often have knobs for parameters that lack CV
inputs. In livecoding that's a bit unlikely. That's a issue of price and
panel-space though, not a fundamental difference either.

Additionally; a sufficiently large modular allows for collaborative patching
in a way that I feel digital systems could learn a lot from.

I propose we do a lot more with these links/differences once our friend
Richard finishes his USB/MIDI => CV interface.
