Ah, ok. I thought the Linux option ran in a sort of sandbox. To be honest I
always thought that was a sort of "mostly harmless" thing that Sony probably
released to make the device look like a "ordinary computer" to certain laws.
(that's where the useless basic for the PS2 came from).
I also didn't fear for the Cell being under-documented but for how hard it
would be to optimise code for it. Then again I only read some theoretical
pieces on it back when it was new.
In that case this is really nice news... Unless you are Sony... but aside
from the nice people at Japan Studio I don't really care for them.
