True. Shreds don't do anything you couldn't do using one big loop with a lot
of flags. They are just a convenient abstraction, just like the whole
"strongly timed" concept is just a way to conveniently define execution
order, using time to express this.

I still think the words are useful; despite the funny words some people
still keep looking at shreds as though they were basically the same as Unix
processes.

I recognise that the "ChucKist" culture of making fun of stuff while also
taking it seriously at the same time isn't for everyone, it may put some off
while attracting others at the same time. I do find it quite interesting
that groups of people sharing a language will develop their own culture,
even when the language is a formal one.
