PhD Scholarship in Adaptive Media

The Australasian CRC for Interaction Design (ACID) is offering a new
doctoral scholarship for a suitably qualified candidate to undertake
research into computational processes for generative music and graphics.
This scholarship is funded by ACID for a period of three years. The position
will be based in the Creative Industries Faculty at the Queensland
University of Technology (QUT) in Brisbane, Australia.

ACID is a leader in the research and design of innovative technologies and
digital media that support new forms of interaction and collaboration.

The successful applicant will work with a team of researchers working on
ACID's Adaptive Media project. This project investigates new methods for
providing computational support for creative activities through generative
algorithmic processes that extend or automate creation of digital media
content.

The successful applicant will suggest a doctoral study that strongly aligns
with this project and will work with Associate Professor Andrew Brown and
Research Fellow Andrew Sorensen. Applicants must also successfully apply for
admission to the doctoral project at QUT.

The doctoral scholarship is valued at $20K per annum (tax exempt) and may be
renewed, subject to satisfactory progress.

Applications are invited from both Australian citizens and International
Students applying to study at QUT. Successful applicants are expected to
enrol in 2008.

Further information is available from Associate Professor Andrew Brown, PO
Box 2008, Kelvin Grove, Qld, 4059 (Phone: 07 3337 7821; Fax: 07 3337 7834;
Email: andrew_at_acid.net.au). Applications should be sent direct to Associate
Professor Andrew Brown and should include a curriculum vitae, a copy of an
academic transcript, and the names and contact details of at least two
referees.
