Hm, your system seems rather similar to my own. I see now that the
captcha process involves getting some offsite javascript -- perhaps you
have extra security stuff installed that stops this from working? I'll
remove the captcha stuff in any case, if it doesn't work in everyone's
browser that's rubbish. Requiring logins should be enough to stem the
flow of spam.
