The "eternal return" patch is on the swiki now:
http://swiki.hfbk-hamburg.de:8888/MusicTechnology/862 (Most of the
logic happens in the class HistoryDispatch for which you'll need a
very new checkout of SuperCollider from the svn repository)

Alberto has also updated the History implementation, which allows
searching and filtering!
