Tenure-track Assistant Professor in Music Composition at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute
The Department of the Arts at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Troy, NY invites applications, expressions of interest, and nominations for the position of tenure-track Assistant Professor in Music Composition. The department has a 45-year history of innovation in arts and technology and is home to an internationally recognized interdisciplinary arts faculty. The department offers a Bachelor of Science degree, the M.F.A.,and the Ph.D.
We seek a composer with multidisciplinary skills whose work demonstrates creative, critical, theoretical, and technological engagement with one or more of the following: acoustic and electro-acoustic music composition, improvisation, audio/visual performance, installation, and contemporary practices in sound art. The successful candidate will have an emerging national reputation of scholarly and artistic achievement, evidence of successful collegiate teaching experience, and readiness to engage in corporate and/or foundation partnerships and sponsored research. A Ph.D., DMA, or foreign degree equivalent in music composition or a related field is required. 
Founded in 1824, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute is the nation’s oldest technological university.
