Thanks Mauro. We can take this topic off line if you'd like a more in-depth
discussion. The short answer is that I use samples recorded from my own
hardware and software synths, plus samples I've acquired over the last 10
years from sample packs (mostly license-free demos, some paid, some neither
:/). From a creative and artistic perspective, I want to stop using sample
packs and only use my own material, but I'm not 100% there yet. Most of the
bass and melodic sounds I use today are my own (not necessarily true 6
months ago). Being a drummer, I'm really picky about drum and percussion
sounds, and I'm working on these samples. I've had a blast live-coding the
Korg Volca Keys over MIDI from Tidal, but I couldn't get the audio mix to
work with it last night in the streaming software. As for the recording
process, I use both FL Studio and Audacity in Windows. I find the recording
and trimming process to be extremely tedious and am trying to find a better
way to do it.
