[apologies for posting to two mailing lists]

Dear all,

In case of interest, a couple of opportunities below for funded PhD study at Durham (deadlines in January)

I'm happy to talk off list to anyone interested who has projects they think I might be suitable to supervise/mentor. I readily admit two things:

1) Funding is never easy to obtain, and you would need a strong research-oriented proposal (especially if your personal composition or performance is the central subject matter) and a strong and competitive educational background and/or commensurate real world employment experience.

2) It's only fair to mention that Durham isn't the only place advertising studentships. There are other opportunities around the UK now the AHRC has placed awards in various university groups; jobs.ac.uk is a good place to look. If you want to come to Durham you would be prepared to live in the area to engage with the research community here.

best,
Nick
