Yes, I attended one lecture on the history of the research into the
history of turntablism, which had similar issues as well. At least
that field now has at least one doctoral study, I am happy to have it
on the shelf here. Kjetil Falkenberg Hansen was generous enough to
send me a copy, he might have more to spare for interested parties
asking nicely. I recommend it.

I predict something else will happen. I already attended one event
where the host with a straight face traced the origins of livecoding
to one Professor Nilson in the 60's before a attentive audience, some
of whom were taking notes. We may need to leave notes for future
archaeologists about the percentage of the time that we are fully
joking or completely serious.
