I'd like to see parameterised fonts like meta-font used to dynamically
change the "intonation" of the text depending on the context and how the
context changes.
Ideally it would do things like join letters in a cursive style for legato
lines and so on. While staying mono-spaced. Oh, and death-metal style riffs
should result in Karplus-Strong written in a gothic font.
