Hi All,

Impromptu 1.3 is now available for download.

NOTE: Impromptu is now 10.5+

The most substantial addition to 1.3 is the inclusion of a set of
custom AudioUnits designed specifically for programatic use in
Impromptu. They do not provide UI's but instead provide programmatic
support for such things as loading, playing and recording audio-sample
data, returning fft data, setting up feedback loops etc.. These
AudioUnits are low level (i.e. UGens) and when used in conjunction
with Apple's shipping AudioUnits (filters, reverbs, delays etc.)
provide a more programmatic method for playing with synthesis
processes directly within Impromptu. A list detailing each AudioUnit
and tutorials demonstrating their use can be found here. You will
need to install the AudioUnit's found in the download dmg into your ~/
Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components/ directory before you try to use
them in Impromptu 1.3.

The metro (make-metro) library is now included as standard in
impromptu 1.3. Also included in Impromptu 1.3 are the macro's - play
setp getp setpn and pb:cb. You can find out more about all these by
watching this movie: metro_beat.mov

There are many new functions in this release, particularly in the
gfx: gl: au: and objc: pseudo namespaces. Read about them here.

There is a new FAQ section that will hopefully be growing steadily
over the coming weeks and months.

Enjoy!
Andrew.
