Yes exactly! This is what I had in mind, something where you can put
anything where you like, but distance relationships between those things
are the meaning.
I was aware of reactable and have even seen it but not realised what it
was + and how good it was...
This relates to the idea of conceptual spaces in this fine book:

The surface of a reactable seems more like a conceptual space than to a
