Composers Against Intermediate (Graphical/Gestural User) Interfaces
Julian and I were perhaps a little drunk but invented a new group (name
unsettled as yet) which would promote TOPLAP's pure performance algorithm
writing at one end of its remit and pure machine listening/ensemble playing
from audio input or motion tracking devices only at the other end, and
nothing in between.
We hate widgets, slider banks, virtual cables and all interfacing gimmicks
without neuroscientific basis.
Write textual arcana, or work as a traditional musician linked to computers
by automatic tracking systems only.
