AW: AW: AW: AW: [livecode] toplap at club transmediale (fwd)

I enclose Jan's last three e-mails of yesterday below so list members can
see what's going on.

We need to submit something this afternoon: main points:

There is no funding from transmediale to cover Us flights, but we can cover
Ge if the ultrasound money comes in.

I don't know where this half day workshop idea has come from (we can run
ourselves at c-base or something but there is no official slot for that,
see below).

panel= mix of presentations?
performance= live jam, multi projector
talk= Ge? Or Julian and Alberto?

I suspect we should perhaps invert this to do a short 30 min general talk
showing a few systems briefly and give Ge and Julian half the panel each to
present ChucK/jitlib. Otherwise I'm not sure how we fit everything in
within these time constraints!

Thoughts, complaints?

Hi Nick,

actually I still don't know wether there will be an additional timeslot or
not - I hope to know by tomorrow, but it unfortunately depends on other
peoples decision, which I can't speed up myself. So let's work with what we
have for sure:
>> talk/presentation could be arround 30 minutes
>> panel would be about an hour
>> performance should be 30-40 minutes

Please send me your first proposal tomorrow - we are definitely in a
hurry...;). I am curious to read about your ideas. during the coming week,
we should shape your participationa nd confirm it, otherwise it will be a
problem with catalogue deadlines.

hope to hear from you tomorrow,

best

hi again,

the venue is Maria am Ostbahnhof, a huge club where we did the last club
transmediale festival also. but this time we will open up an additional
room, not used before. This room is meant more as a cinema. we will have
seats and a huge central screen. but is not a problem to split this up in
two screens or have additional screens. It is of course a question of money,
but I know that you probably will need more than one screen. How many are
needed?

Actually when inviting you, I never thought of bringing people over from the
US, which is the most expensive always. Are ten people really necessary?
where in the US do they come from? east or west coast? What amount of money
are we talking about to bring these people over? Of course you know, that we
also don't have much to spent...;)

More detailed information iwould be needed now, to develop a clear idea of
what could be done, for what amount of money and with how many people.

Hi

I just read the mail that Alex has send to Andreas. Now I understand more.
Actually we have applied for support form the british council to bring over
two toplap members from the UK (because I thought it would most likely be
Alex and Adrian). This support has been granted, so club transmediale can
take care of that. I will check if there is room in the budget for another
person from th UK, but don't know yet. I understand that it would be great
to have all that people gather together, but like Andreas I don't see a
chance for us to cover the travel costs for the US toplap members now that I
see the numbers. We did the US embassy application together with
transmediale and I also don't have any further idea where to get additional
funding that quick.

So I appologize that we won't be able to make this possible, but please
understand that at this point of the festival preparation most of the budget
is already issued. And as every year we are already over budget.

let's talk more tomorrow, when I have your draft.

best
