Revision as of 16:10, 4 January 2010

The idea is to have a live coding festival in Newcastle, UK, some time in the latter half of 2010. It would likely be over a long weekend, and include talks, performances and workshops (including for absolute beginners) -- with performances hopefully in a high spec planetarium. There would hopefully be funding available to contribute towards travel and accommodation of those performing or presenting, who did not have their own funding.

To see whether it is a goer, we need to gauge interest. Please add yourself below (click the 'edit' link) if you'd be interested in coming along, where you'd be coming from and optionally the kind of thing you'd like to see, along with any other comments.

Interested people

If you're at all interested in live coding, and think you might come to the festival, please add yourself below -- your interest will help make it happen!

  • Alex M, from London UK, diverse presentations across all the live coding frameworks, another pub headphone session as well as planetarium performances.
  • Dave G. Helsinki .fi, lots of performances - a planetarium would be good! Maybe some workshops?
  • Click, N, from Swedland, SK/UE. Algorithmic dance sessions; workshop and concert of movement and live coding.
  • Johan "proppy" E, from Paris FR, beginner workshops for popular live coding frameworks, barcamp like blitz talks, and performances with clapometers.
  • Scott H from Huddersfield, planetarium sounds ace, how about an outdoors performance
  • Gabor Papp, Budapest, HU
  • Stephen P, Sheffield/London, live coding across various domains using various bits of software, an open jam session would also be fun.
  • IOhannes m zmölnig, Graz, AUT
  • Joanne Davies, Wales. Interested in workshops especially for beginers.
  • Julien Ottavi / APO33 (UK/FR)
  • Andy McCall-Smith (Middlesbrough, UK) - absolute newbie to live coding, so no real suggestions, but keen to learn something new. Fairly skilled with "traditional" Music Tech, sequencers, hardware, etc.
  • David Rogerson / Sound and Music (UK)
  • Peter P. Graz AT
