Hi all,
I am currently finishing my phd on 'automatic annotation of musical
audio for interactive systems'. The aim of this project is to create
control signals (MIDI, Osc, whatever) from acoustic signals in real
time. A few of these annotation methods, including pitch, onsets, and
tempo, are gathered into a library:
http://aubio.piem.org/ (a large
update will be released real soon now).
I have also done some work on packaging supercollider and chuck for
debian, as well as a few other audio packages such as freewheeling and
freecycle. Some of them are available from the debian archives, the
others can be found at
http://piem.org/debian/
As you guessed, i am more of a developper than a musician, but i also
sometimes play on computer or piano keyboards :-)
Nice to get in the loop,
Greetings, Piem
