I recorded my recent live coding screencasts with Quicktime Player and Soundflower (http://code.google.com/p/soundflower/) to route sound from SuperCollider into QuickTime (and onto my speakers).

It's OK in sync I guess (how much in sync does audio have to be for a live coding video?) but stuff like scrolling the code editor fast felt a little sluggish while recording. It also sucks up a lot of CPU despite that I've got quite a fast MacBook Pro (i7, 2GHz). Also the audio you hear from the speaker while recording is delayed even more with Soundflower (because it needs an extra buffer to serve audio to the soundcard i guess).

So it works but I also saw someone using Screenflow and it looked much smoother.

cheers,
Patrick
