Re: [livecode] toplap at club transmediale

Jan at transmediale sent through the following info, which I'm passing on
and throwing open to some discussion.

They want a proposal in next few days which we can prepare openly, probably
using the wiki to help.

I enclose my questions and his responses.

Various of you have expressed interest. We are also investigating an
off-transmediale event so that lots of people can play and no-one is missed
out.

For our proposal, there are many possibilties- there could be an official
TOPLAP jam as the main performance, or a live cinema thing with
Julian/Alberto.
Talk/demoes could be Julian/Alberto, Chuck etc...

We can also hold informal talks I'm sure on the side. Seems like a good
excuse for a big TOPLAP meeting anyhow.

There are some fees from ultrasound/state51 we hope to put towards
expenses, we have Fredrik's flat (thanks f) etc. So even though Jan prefers
covering 3-4 people below we can fly and accommodate more than this.

Anyway, thoughts, preferences for nature of involvement? Quotes for
expenses?
Cheers
N

talk/presentation could be arround 30 minutes
panel would be about an hour [he means workshop/demo I think]
performance should be 30-40 minutes

this is the planning so far. could be that another program part will not
happen. Then we would have more time. i will know in the next two days
hopefully and will tell you then. in the meanwhile a proposal for the
outlined formats would be helpful.

Let's stick to the close members and see what we can do with them. Flights
from London, Paris or most other european cities are cheap and reasonable,
the US or other places abroad will be a problem. accomodation can be
arranged. hotel if necessary, but limited. otherwise we have some artist
flats, where we easily can accomodate people. we also server breakfast
there. So far I think of a maximum of 3-4 people.

[just to be open, Jan had noticed klipp av were involved with TOPLAP and
thought they might be an appropriate act for the gig. This is my response]

This was probably for transmediale only, because we from club transmediale
never saw this submission. I would say, forget about this rejection. Now you
are in touch with club transmediale and we do our independent thing, even
when we cooperate with transmediale (it is complicated, I know). If we agree
on having Klipp AV, everybody (also transmediale) will support this
decision.

[there's no way I'd accept a transmediale performance for klipp av ahead of
you guys]
