Thanks, really grateful for the warning! My video is indeed Ogg
Theora, so I've just spent a little while trying to convert it into a
file that Quicktime can show - not quite got there yet! The suggestion
that VLC is a problem is a bit puzzling since it's always been my
reliable "this will open anything" media player, but never mind. I'd
agree with your recommendation that future years should allow a video
format that's free to all.
